Databases for lawyers and the public might change the legal profession in ways that were unimaginable 20 years ago. Now there are searchable databases that focus on law firms, attorneys inside the law firms, along with caseloads of the attorneys followed by results of the cases at every stage of litigation.

These databases are mining the Federal Clerk’s Offices for data that is public information and feeding a searchable database that will in turn populate pre-made or customized charts and graphs.

The implications of this are far reaching. There is no place to hid posers, the results of their litigation and the types of cases they litigate speak for themselves.

Conclusions and predictions of outcomes in new cases can be drawn from this data with relative reliability and predictability.
