Book title Page PPTDeath

Why Death? No one knows what death is… Period.

If someone says they know why we are here, and why we die they are lying. At the time of this writing I am sixty-six years old and have diligently studied world religions, philosophies, death, and history, using both primary and secondary sources and having more questions now about death than I did when I first started my studies.

Will death come to me? I don’t know?

The definition of death… Death is defined as the cessation of all vital functions of the body including the heartbeat, brain activity , and breathing.

The legal definition of Death… Both the traditional standard of cessation of heart and lung activity and the standard of total and irreversible cessation of brain function, including brain stem function, should be recognized as the legal standards.

There is not a statutory definition, nor a fixed definition at common law regarding death. In relation to medical treatment, the court may consider that a person’s being in a persistent vegetative state is sufficient to indicate that his or her life need no longer be preserved by artificial means, while not accepting the concept of euthanasia. Absence of brain-stem activity is coming to be recognized as a sound practical test to determine death.

What Does the Brain Stem Do?

Your brain stem works as a bridge or relay station for messages traveling between different parts of your brain and messages traveling from your brain to the spinal cord. It also controls the movement of involuntary muscles. Involuntary muscles are the ones that your body controls for you. They are found in and around structures like your lungs, heart, and blood vessels.

After the body shuts down by definition, where do I go?

If I live inside my body and one of the brain’s so-called functions is regulating body functions, including thinking and emotions, where do I go?
