Holy “Theory of Profit” Batman, where is your face mask: David Ricardo’s theory in the “Monopoly” game is being replaced with digital currency and social distancing. Do not call the commissioner, she might implement martial law!

Here is a sample of what the Captain thinks about when out to sea.

I realized why they call Board Games, bored  games ( paronomasia intended). What might the inventors have been trying to convey?  What are some of the principals learned from a simple bored game called Monopoly?

In Ricardo’s Theory of Profit, Ricardo stated that as real wages increase, real profits decrease because the revenue from the sale of manufactured goods is split between profits and wages. He states in his Essay on Profits, “Profits depend on high or low wages, wages on the price of necessaries, and the price of necessaries chiefly on the price of food.” Who knew?

While playing Monopoly today, most of us don’t understand the roots of the game.  Back in 1817 economist Ricardo contributed to the development of theories of rent, wages, and profits.  He defined rent as “the difference between the produce obtained by the employment of two equal quantities of capital and labor.”

This next paragraph you might want to skip, because it might hurt your head due to the complexity of it and your lack of understanding money…

Ricardo believed that the process of economic development, which increased land utilization and eventually led to the cultivation of poorer land, principally benefited landowners. According to Ricardo, such premium over “real social value” that is reaped due to ownership constitutes value to an individual but is at best a paper monetary return to “society”. The portion of such purely individual benefit that accrues to scarce resources Ricardo labels “rent”.

Surprise! To most of us semi privileged Baby-boomers who live in the United States grew up playing the board game of Monopoly and got good at the principals of the game.

Hold onto your Smartphone’s kids it’s about to go crypto. Monopoly money never existed; however, cheating, greed, and the lust for more did exist as we insisted our rents be paid or we will lose the game. Our will to win at the demise of family and friends was never given a second thought and the way to win.

Now we have inflation, interest, and insurance added to the game, but the game is real life and the rules change continually just like in the board game.

As I was pondering the game of Monopoly my question was, “Do we cut down more trees and stop breathing to make more paper money, or send sustainable fiat money that is government-issued, created by our developed technology across a electronic network of machines?” I guess the third choice would be to barter goods and be subjected to pirates.

My choice is sustainable electronic money because money for me, is a tool to exchange goods with.  Money’s value is utility based on demand and scarcity. Interest, inflation, and insurance will always deplete the coffers and has nothing to do with exchange. I can not remember the last time I sent Amazon cash…

The Bible mentions money over 800 times and of all of Jesus’ parables, more than half of them talked about money.

The silver coin is an example in the Bible.

Quia precium sanguinis est “This is the price of blood” Then one of the Twelve disciples of Jesus — the one called Judas Iscariot — went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.

The Bible infers that God cares more about our attitude toward money than about money itself.  I guess monopoly teaches that too.

I hope you enjoyed the break… Follow above and we will see you next week God willing.

ship never sail2

Ahoy mates! Just another day at sea. Sailing our ship the “NEVERSAIL” through uncharted waters headed towards an unknown destination. We have been at sea for about six weeks now.

I am Captain Ron, sailing our ship under orders of the President of the United States. The ship is a 1300 square foot single family dwelling commissioned about 50 years ago. I am with my first-mate and crew of five animals, plenty of space for our small crew to move around in.

We have provisions to last; however, not indefinitely. We are eating well now, experimenting with new recipes and rationing our provisions as much as possible.

This cruise is so unique, I have decided to log the experience.

Where’s the Eggs Grandma?

happy easter

Please don’t read this,  you might get upset… “Χριστός ἀνέστη!”

It is awfully presumptuous to believe that a minority population of self indulged charlatans can predict the future of the whole world based on a book of 66 books, which  they have no idea of where it come from or who wrote it, written in a metaphoric language of symbols from as they believe so called thousands of years ago.

There are an estimated 7.5 billion people in the world today. Who speak an estimated 6,909 languages the average age of a human being is 28 years old, with a life expectancy of 70 years old…

How many of those 7.5 billion know who Abraham was? or who Noah was? or who I am?

The world is an estimated 25,000 miles around, with a diameter of 8,000 miles. The highest mountain peak  is a estimated 36,000 feet or five miles high. The deepest point on earth is an estimated 38,000 feet or about five miles deep.

I can walk one mile in 20 minutes.

There are an estimated 128 million books in print; those books are written in 3,982 living languages.  The remaining over 3000 languages are likely not to have books and the people remain illiterate.

I can read about 200 pages a week; that puts me at 3,000 plus books written in English, Spanish, or Latin in a lifetime. Out of 128 million books in print, I might as well be illiterate.

I can only speak for myself. Christ has risen. The gospel or good news is that Jesus is alive. I don’t understand why or how Jesus rose from the dead. I know after hearing the good news 50 years ago, I had a need to repent. I actually regretted things I did that I knew were wrong by my conscience or inner voice.

Do I still do wrong things?  Yes; however, I live with the living God inside me, free of fear death. I live life in abundance because I live within my means and am satisfied with what God gave me.

I do not listen to romanticized ideas from the imagination of others. I do not listen to illusionary ideas from delusional people who entertain fear out of self preservation.  I have learned to weigh the cognitive dissonance brought on me by people I trusted.

Jesus only has one commandment the whole earth can understand and follow:  Love one another as I has loved you. No greater love has anyone than, to give their life for a friend. I call you my friend.  (Every warrior knows what I am talking about.)

“Truly He is Risen!  “ Ἀληθῶς ἀνέστη! “

You shall never wash my feet…

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread… Exodus 12

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are.

You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.  That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.  Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs.  Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.  This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

Celebrate this day as a lasting ordinance for the generations to come…

Last Supper of Jesus Christ

Washing of the feet, mosaic in the Katholikon, Hosios Loukas monastery (UNESCO World Heritage List, 1990), Boeotia, Greece, 11th century.

Jesus rose from the last supper. He laid aside his garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.  Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash your feet, you have no share with me.”

In my opinion, Peter only wanted to show Jesus that he knew the law of Passover and that he was unwilling to break that law by removing his sandals.

Never underestimate the power of love.

Every warrior knows this…

Jesus said,”This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Every warrior knows this…

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

Holy Thursday is the day during holy week we remember the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he established  Holy Communion prior to his arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection.
During the Passover meal, Jesus breaks the unleavened bread on the table and gives it to his Disciples, saying the words, “This is my body, which is given for you.” Then, he passes a cup filled with wine. He then says, “This is my blood….”.  After the supper Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an act of humility and service, thereby setting an example that we should love and serve one another in humility.

We can truly change the world becoming the servants of the most high.

holy week

This is not truth, it is my opinion based on secondary information from secondary sources,  not from personal experience.

Why we celebrate Passover and Holy Week …

In the Bible; Exodus 12:15-16, 13:6-7;  Leviticus 23:6;  Deuteronomy 16:3-4 ; Mar 14:14 ;       Luke 22:8.

Passover…  “No leavened bread shall be seen with you for seven days,” corresponding to the seven days between the redemption and the dividing of the Red Sea. There were seven days of creation, and the Sabbath is observed at the end of seven days.

Holy Week… is the week between Palm Sunday and Pascha (Greek, Latin) or Resurrection Sunday.  Today Holy Week is observed as a time of devotion to the death and resurection of Jesus Christ.  Originally, only Good Friday and Holy Saturday were observed.

The first day of Holy Week is Palm Sunday.

Why the Art of Car ?

Posted: 2020/03/27 in Uncategorized

art of car picbWhy the Art of Car ? … Because the car is a living machine with life blood i.e. engine oil and a heart beat i.e. engine timing and spark plugs. A car is given a name by the manufacturer, and a vehicle identification number (VIN) number at the date of birth.  The average life expectancy of a new vehicle these days is around 8 years or 150,000 miles. Of course, some well-built vehicles can go 15 years and 300,000, if properly maintained.

The car must move and run to maintain good health and keep the energy level up in the battery.  While running, it will maintain  a temperature of about 160 degrees. Tires must be inflated to match the surface traveled on.

The mechanic is the exoteric master who understands the soul of the machine.

To know your car is to know yourself …

  • Conception and creation of a car
  • Intellectual property (Copywrites, trademarks)
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Programming
  • Sales
  • Laws and procedures
  • Maintenance

What is the soul of the car…?

Metaphysically the car is a living soul… an object of our love.

The car was a rock that turned into iron…

The iron turned into steel…

The steel turned into a car…

The potential of the rock turned into a car through the will of humans.

Do we love a rock, a car, or the men who turned the rock into a car?

The transmutation of the rock into a car… is it magic, or was it a process?

The transmutation of a car into love… is it romanticism, delusion, or cognitive dissonance?

The love of a car is real love and is manifested in pain, fear, anticipation, longing, ect…

Where did Jesus go for three days after he died?

The Bible does not specifically state what happened to Jesus immediately after He died on the cross.  Because of this, there is debate surrounding the answer to the question of where He went and what He did.

A timeline is a legal concept that helps prove a theory to be true or not to be true.  A representation of,  or exhibit of key events within the confines of  a chronological order.

Because there is no Biblical record or any way of authenticating the facts with evidence that Jesus is in fact  alive or dead, we must therefore believe with faith that either Jesus never died or did die and came back to life.

Habeas corpus (Show me the body) is a writ that a person may seek from a court to obtain immediate release from jail, in jail for or accused of a crime they did not commit.

No one killed Jesus because Jesus is not dead.

The Romans, through a high court, ordered Jesus to death by crucifixion, hung him on a cross after torturing and beating him to confess being a leader in the insurrection against Rome,  that he was accused of.

Jesus quietly professed his innocence and was acquitted by the court for the insurrection.  However, through political pressure and lack of concern for a peasant, Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion by the high court of Rome.

There is no physical body or dead body to produce, therefore no one killed Jesus.  If Jesus is a fictional character, what does it matter anyway where he went? As long as I believe he is alive…
